Michael Dressler, oboe

Appointed by JoAnn Falletta in May of 2006, Michael Dressler is one of the newest members of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his appointment, he performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2004 until 2006. Michael has attended numerous festivals, including Tanglewood, Aspen, International Symphony Orchestra (Israel), Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, Lucerne Festival Academy (Switzerland), Campos do Jordao Festival International (Brazil), Sarasota Music Festival, and Pacific Music Festival (Japan). Michael attended Boston University, and his teachers include Ralph Gomberg, John Ferrillo, and Eugene Izotov. |
