William Thomas, Bass Clarinet

William Thomas began playing with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra shortly after graduation from Old Dominion University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering. Besides serving as bass clarinetist with the VSO, he has performed with numerous other local organizations, including the Norfolk Chamber Consort, the Virginia Opera, the Virginia Arts Festival, the Virginia Wind Symphony, the Peninsula Symphony, the Virginia Beach Pops, and Young Audiences of Virginia.
Outside of his musical activities, Mr. Thomas is a registered professional engineer and is employed by the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, where he heads the Port Workload Forecasting and Scheduling Division. A Norfolk native, he now resides in Virginia Beach and is the proud father of two wonderful daughters, Leah and Jennifer.
