Combined Federal Campaign:

You can now contribute to the Virginia Symphony through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).  The CFC is the largest authorized workplace charity drive and was established to make it easy for federal civilian and military personnel to contribute to charities of their choice during a charity drive that runs from September 1 through December 15 each year.

If you are federal or military personnel designate the Virginia Symphony as the beneficiary of your contribution by entering our five-digit code # 70701 for the Southside campaign or # 46038 for the Peninsula and the amount you wish to pledge on your CFC pledge form.

To find out more information about giving to the Virginia Symphony through the Combined Federal Campaign visit www.cfcshr.org or www.uwvp.org/cfc/.

Corporate Giving:

Corporate Donors play an integral role in funding our Classics, Pops, PB&J Family concerts, education programs and ensure the presence of special guest artists throughout the season. For your generous support, your corporation will receive recognition as a sponsor in playbills, brochures, various print media and on the VSO website. We are dedicated to creating a customized package of benefits that will suit all the needs of your corporation. For more information, contact Jennifer Barbee, Director of Development, at (757) 213-1419 or jbarbee@virginiasymphony.org.

Matching Gifts:

This unique opportunity displays your individual support alongside the support of your employer. Many employers sponsor an Employee Matching Gifts Program that will match your individual gift and double your support to the Virginia Symphony. View a sample list of corporations currently participating in matching gift programs. Contact your Human Resource Department today for more information.

Gifts of Securities:

Making a gift of appreciated stock to the VSO Annual Fund can offer you significant tax advantages. By making this investment you may deduct the full market value of the stock at the time of your purchase without any capital gain tax. For more information about your gift of security, contact Jennifer Barbee, Director of Development, at (757) 213-1419 or jbarbee@virginiasymphony.org or Liz Thies at Wells Fargo Advisors at (757) 640-5902 or elizabeth.thies@wfadvisors.com.

Planned Giving:

Planned Giving offers you the opportunity to establish your support of the Virginia Symphony as your legacy. There are a number of ways that you can create a planned giving campaign. Many supporters choose to make provisions for the Symphony through bequests in their wills and trusts. Others choose to take advantage of a Gift Annuity that enables you to make a gift of cash or property in exchange for a fixed income for the life of the beneficiary. As a donor, you can also choose to use a number of trust options ranging from a Charitable Remainder Trust to a Charitable Income Lead Trust. All of these options offer significant benefits to an individual or couple, tax deductions, and a good rate of return. For more information, you can view our online Giving Table or contact Jennifer Barbee, Director of Development, at (757) 213-1419 or jbarbee@virginiasymphony.org.

By contributing to the Virginia Symphony through one of the Planned Giving options you will become a member of the Legacy Society. As primarily a social group, the members of the Legacy Society plan and participate in a number of special events throughout the season. These events include recitals with Symphony musicians in private homes, dinners and special pre-concert receptions.

If you have already made arrangements to support the Symphony through planned giving, please contact us so that we can recognize you as a member of the Legacy Society.
